The chrism Mass for the Diocese of St. Cloud was celebrated April 11 at St. Mary’s Cathedral. Blizzard conditions throughout the diocese prevented many people from attending. This is Bishop Donald Kettler’s homily from the Mass.

Bishop Donald Kettler told members of the diocesan Presbyteral Council that more research was needed into the pros and cons of allowing outdoor weddings before he would make a decision about whether to allow them in the Diocese of St. Cloud.

Introduced Feb. 28, the Equity and Opportunity Scholarship Act (S.F. 1872/ H.F. 1894) would provide individuals or corporations with a state tax credit of 70 percent of a donation to a qualified scholarship-granting organization.

Benedictine Sister Grace Donovan, 94, died March 29 at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. A Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, April 4, at 3 p.m. at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph. Burial will be in the monastery cemetery.
