Benedictine Father Brennan (Charles) Maiers, 86, died July 22 in the retirement center at St. John’s Abbey, Collegeville. The monks, family, and friends will receive the body on Wednesday, July 27, at 7 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, July 28, in St. John’s Abbey and University Church, with interment in the abbey cemetery.

Schulze Family Foundation: Every school raising at least $25,000 in gifts over and above previous giving or from new donors, starting Jan. 1 and ending March 31, would receive another $25,000 from the foundation.

Franciscan Sister Frances Kempenich, 97, died July 22 at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. Receiving of the body of Sister Frances will be Thursday, July 28, at 9 a.m. followed by visitation until the time of her funeral at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Convent.
