New bishop of Dunkeld, Scotland, has local connection

Pope Francis appointed Msgr. Andrew McKenzie as bishop of Dunkeld, Scotland, on Monday, May 27. As part of his education, Msgr. McKenzie graduated in 1998 with a master’s degree in liturgical studies from Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary in Collegeville.

Now 59, Msgr. McKenzie was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Glasgow on Oct. 31, 1988, and has held the offices of seminary formator, promoter of vocations, as National Director of Priests for Scotland and parish priest before becoming canon and administrator of the archdiocesan St. Andrew’s Cathedral in Glasgow, Scotland.
