Four teachers from St. John’s Area School in Foley were awarded CenturyLink Teachers and Technology grants totaling $19,851. A CenturyLink representative presented the checks April 20 at a school assembly.
Sandy Anderson received her grant to upgrade students’ math computation skills, Karen Thorsten to develop “Touch, Explore, andLearn Kindergarten Centers,” Amy Scott to coordinate language arts and social studies instruction in conjunction with iPads, and Theresa Heck to study science inventions. Their projects will be completed in the coming school year.
Besides funding additional iPads and covers and charging stations, the grants will purchase iTunes cards for needed apps, a kindergarten technology table and chairs, wireless headphones, media carts, a scanner/printer and a wall mounting kit.
