Each year as Lent begins, Bishop Donald Kettler gathers to celebrate the Rite of Election with catechumens, those who are preparing to receive the sacraments of initiation — baptism, confirmation and the Eucharist — at the Easter Vigil. During the liturgy, he also identifies and welcomes candidates in the Call to Continuing Conversion. These individuals have been baptized and now seek full communion with the Catholic Church through confirmation and/or the Eucharist. This year, there are 13 catechumens and 43 candidates.
