The transfer of leadership for the Franciscan Sisters of Little Falls occurred June 10 at St. Francis Convent with Crosier Father Kermit Holl presiding. The incoming community minister and president is Sister Carol Schmitt, with three assistant ministers Sisters Carolyn Law, Charlene Grossman and Grace Skwira. They will serve until 2023.
During the liturgy, Sister Carol said, “Throughout my 62 years as a Franciscan, I have been called to and have chosen the ministry of teacher, missionary, farmer, advocate. Each was an integral part of who I am as sister. Now I accept and choose this new call to lead my Franciscan community. Maybe to wash your feet. Always to love you. I want to do fully what you are calling me to do.”
