Maryknoll missioner in Bangladesh to speak in St. Cloud

Father Bob McCahill, Maryknoll missioner in Bangladesh, will present an evening of stories on what it means to be a missioner in an interfaith context. He will speak at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 13, at Christ Church Newman Center, St. Cloud. The event is free and open to the public.

In 1975, Father McCahill and four other Maryknoll missioners arrived in the densely-populated Bangladesh, just four years after the country won its independence in a civil war with Pakistan. He later moved to the interior of the predominantly Muslim country to minister to poor people, particularly children, in need of medical attention, crisscrossing the area on bicycle and living in villages.
