Photos: St. Anthony living rosary and blessing

Parishioners of St. Anthony Parish in St. Anthony gathered May 1 to bless a 320-foot rosary and pray a living rosary, with each person holding a “bead.”
After seeing a similar rosary being used at St. Martin Parish — which they borrowed from Sts. Peter and Paul Parish in Richmond — Tricia Merdan thought that Harvest of Hope ACC should have their own. She put a request in the parish bulletin and Jeff Gerads, a member of Seven Dolors in Albany, volunteered to create it.
“Because it started in St. Martin, came to St. Benedict in Avon and Seven Dolors made it, we decided to bring it here to St. Anthony to have it blessed,” Merdan said. “That way we’ve involved all four of the parishes in our Area Catholic Community,
