Obituaries

Franciscan Sister Mary Blase (Irene) Kulzer, 89, died Oct. 11 at St. Gabriel’s Hospital, Little Falls. A private burial service took place Oct. 13. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date with family and friends.

Benedictine Sister Claire (Bernadette) Schmitt, 97, a member of Annunciation Monastery in Bismarck, North Dakota, died Aug. 28. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2, in the Annunciation Monastery chapel.

Benedictine Sister Sheila (Shirley) Rausch, 93, died Aug. 4 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Monastery on Aug. 11, followed by inurnment of her cremated remains in the monastery cemetery. 

Benedictine Sister Dorothea (Arleda) Lenz, 92, died July 28 at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud.  A private Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Benedict’s Monastery on Aug. 3 followed by inurnment of her cremated remains in the monastery cemetery.

Benedictine Father Simeon James Thole, 85, died July 19 in the retirement center of St. John’s Abbey, Collegeville. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated July 25 at St. John’s Abbey and University Church with interment in St. John’s Cemetery following the service.   

Sister Mary Cecilia Schmitt, 92, died July 1 at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. A memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held at a later time.

Franciscan Sister Mary Antonette (Rita) Ahles, 99, died April 13 at St. Francis Convent in Little Falls. A memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held at a later time.

Sister Cleone (Mary Anthony) Josephine Renner, 89, died May 28 at St. Francis Convent, Little Falls. A memorial Mass to celebrate her life will be held at a later time.
