Vincent Charles, to be ordained Nov. 13 as a permanent deacon in Isanti, believes God sparked his interest in becoming a deacon through his involvement in various parish ministries.

“My dream when I become a deacon is to be a bridge between God and those who are without knowing him or far away.”

“When I pray for vocations, I pray for the needs of the Church, but also, I pray that every person may find their call.”

Benedictine Sister Hilda Keller died Oct. 31 at St. Benedict’s Senior Community, St. Cloud. The Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, at the Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph.

The Rule of St. Benedict is approximately 1,500 years old, and thanks to a new sculpture at St John’s University in Collegeville, the Rule will be immortalized in a special way for even longer.

“We are preparing for a journey that will deepen our communion with each other, encourage us to listen and learn from one another, and help us to better live out our mission as baptized members of the Church.”

The service offered by this 94-year-old member of St. Louis Bertrand Parish in Foreston “has always been a gift with no strings attached,” says her pastor.
