Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf seeks volunteers to join the fight against hunger

Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf is seeking volunteers to join the fight against hunger. A wide variety of opportunities exist, from serving as a distribution aide to lending a hand to keep food shelves stocked.

The program’s work is about more than distributing food; it’s about making families whole again, making sure kids have the food they need to learn in school, relieving the stress of an empty cupboard for parents, or giving seniors a little bit more so they can stretch their dollars every month.

Catholic Charities Food Shelf needs people like you. People who know that while we all come from diverse backgrounds, we’re all one community. Together, we can make sure everyone has the nutritious food they need to thrive.

Every volunteer experience is a little different. Volunteer positions and tasks include:

·       Sorting and packing. Keep the shelves stocked by assembling boxes of food for distribution.

·       Donation attendant. Greet and assist donors in a fast-paced environment.

·       Basic Everyday Essentials (BEE) Program. Assist clients by helping them shop for clothing.

Volunteers help where the need is greatest, so we’d love to have you join our team! Emergency Services works to provide food, clothing and financial assistance to those in need.

“Volunteers play a vital role in providing support to those affected by food insecurity. I am amazed at the dedication of our volunteers. They never hesitate to jump in and serve our community,” said Jill Seiler, Catholic Charities volunteer coordinator.
