Community choral concert to benefit Catholic Charities Food Shelf

The 2023 “Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing” community choral concert, with a food and fund drive benefiting Catholic Charities Emergency Services Food Shelf, St. Cloud, will be held at St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud, on Saturday, Nov. 18, at 7 p.m.

Five community choirs will take part in the concert, including the Atonement Lutheran Choir, Central Minnesota Saints, Cold Spring Area Maennerchor, Minnesota Center Chorale and the St. John’s Boys’ Choir.

The concert, sponsored by St. Mary’s Cathedral and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, celebrates the season of Thanksgiving with choral music while supporting members of our community who are experiencing food insecurity.

“This concert is special to me as it combines two of my passions: raising awareness and support of our neighbors experiencing food insecurity and creating and sharing beautiful music that nourishes the souls of all in our community,” said Eric Vollen, Catholic Charities Emergency Services program manager. He is also music minister at Atonement Lutheran Church, St. Cloud, where he directs the Atonement Lutheran Choir.

There is no fixed price for admission; rather, the audience is invited to bring nonperishable food items or monetary donations, of any amount, to support Catholic Charities Food Shelf.
