October parish cluster mission emphasizes family as gift from God

“The Gift That Is Our Family” is the theme of a parish cluster mission Oct. 22-25 at four St. Cloud locations. All are invited to attend the intergenerational mission where encouragement and practical strategies for building strong family life and faith will be presented. The Sunday, Monday and Tuesday sessions are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Steve and Kari Colella of Annunciation Ministries will discuss marriage as a vocation from God and practical tools to thrive across the seasons of married life on Sunday, Oct. 22, at St. Anthony Church (2405 N. 1st St.).

On Monday, Oct. 23, at St. John Cantius Church (1515 3rd St. N.), evangelist, youth minister and author Nic Davidson will present “A Gift Set Free,” discussing how to tap into God’s grace to become a source of hope for one another.

Clinical psychologist and TV/radio host Dr. Ray Guarendi will speak on “Laughter, the Sanity of Families” on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at Holy Spirit Church (2405 Walden Way). His talk will provide insight on how laughter and joy can support people through challenging times and keep hope and love alive.

Desserts and fellowship follow each of these sessions. Child care is available for sixth-graders and under from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Parents are encouraged to make reservations by Oct. 15 but walk-ins are also welcome. Wednesday, Oct. 25, is a “Gathering of Families” at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School (1615 11th Ave. S.) starting with Mass at 5:30 p.m. with a collection to support disaster relief. A Mexican fiesta “supper” and activities follow.
