Pope Francis named Father Patrick Neary, C.S.C., a member of the Congregation of Holy Cross, as the 10th bishop of the Diocese of St. Cloud on Dec.15. Bishop-elect Neary was in St. Cloud for the announcement and a press conference that was held at the Pastoral Center that morning. He also visited some of the diocese’s offices and met with staff. On Dec. 16, Bishop-elect Neary visited Cathedral High School, celebrated Mass at St. Mary’s Cathedral and toured the Catholic Charities Food Shelf. He wrapped up his whirlwind day with stops at St. Benedict’s Monastery and St. John’s Abbey.
