Photos: Six men take next steps toward diaconate ordination

Four men were instituted to the ministry of reader and two to the ministry of acolyte during Mass celebrated by Bishop Donald Kettler Oct. 20 at St. Mary’s Cathedral in St. Cloud.

Instituted as readers were Randolph Bayerl from a St. Andrew in Elk River, Chad Middendorf from St. Boniface in Cold Spring, Philip Polipnick from Our Lady of the Angels Parish in Sauk Centre,  and Peter Tran from Sts. Peter and Paul in Braham. Instituted as acolytes were Kelly Marthaler from St. Alexius Parish in West Union and Richard Wolter from Sacred Heart in Sauk Rapids.

These are next steps on their journey to ordination as permanent deacons.
