‘Women in Fellowship’ craft retreat in Royalton set for June 16-18

A three-day craft retreat titled “Women in Fellowship,” hosted by the youth group of Holy Trinity Parish in Royalton, welcomes crafters of all kinds.

The event opens at 9 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, and continues into the evening of Saturday, June 18, at the church. Work tables are available for $25 a day or $70 for all three days. A six-foot-long table will be reserved for each person. The craft area is accessible by stairs or elevator.

Individuals are free to bring any type of project — from quilting or scrapbooking to card or jewelry making — even filing or other projects for their home. Those who attend are free to come and go as they please. Meals on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights are included in the registration fee. (Breakfast and lunch will be “on your own.”)

Patty Burggraff will teach a basic sewing class on Friday at 9 a.m. for anyone who wants to learn to sew or refine their skills. Attendees will make an apron for an adult, youth or child. The cost of the class is $10. The class fee does not include the cost of material and is not included in the cost of the retreat. Students should bring their own sewing machine or let the organizers know if they need one. Class space is limited. Those who take part in this separate sewing class are not required to attend the retreat.

Irons and ironing boards, fabric cutting boards, electrical outlets and extension cords will be available as well as refrigerator space. Retreat participants are encouraged to bring pillows for their chairs or a preferred chair, project supplies and materials, downloaded/printed patterns and snacks.

Space for the retreat is limited to 30 people. Those who need overnight accommodations will need to make them on their own.
