Benedictine Sister Colette (Darlene) Primus, 89, died Jan. 4 at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. The Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph with burial in the monastery cemetery. Friends may call at St. Scholastica Convent on Monday, Jan. 10, for a prayer service at 1 p.m., followed by visitation until 4:15 p.m., or for a vigil prayer service at 7 p.m. at St. Benedict’s Monastery. Visitation continues at 9 a.m. until the time of the funeral.

The “Creation” window on the west wall of St. John the Baptist Parish in Collegeville was recently restored. TerHaar Stained Glass Studio in Cold Spring cleaned the window, replaced lead, re-soldered joints, reinforced the panels and re-installed it Dec. 22.

“A blessing [such as Honoring Marriage Day] is a pastoral work and an expression of a faith community’s joys and hopes. That is important in any culture,” said Mayuli Bales, diocesan director of multicultural ministries.

Ann Marschel said the root of the program is building up young people to know that they have value and worth. “I don’t think they’re often told that.”

“This revival is to awaken in people’s hearts Jesus present in the Eucharist,” said Father Derek Wiechmann, pastor of the Four Pillars of Faith Area Catholic Community.

“In this synod, the entire people of God are called to step forward, together, in a path that can renew the Church and the world — one of communion, participation and mission.”
