Deacon Frank A. Schmainda, 80, of Glenwood, died Friday, May 27, at Autumn Cottages Assisted Living in Alexandria. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church in Glenwood Friday, June 17, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Inurnment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Glenwood.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1, at St. Mary’s Cathedral with a vigil service at 7 p.m. in the upper church. Visitation will resume at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m.

Benedictine Sister Linda (Valeria) Kulzer, 92, died May 21 at St. Scholastica Convent, St. Cloud. The Eucharist of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 28, at Sacred Heart Chapel, St. Benedict’s Monastery, St. Joseph, with burial of cremated remains in the monastery cemetery.

“My greatest hope is that the Eucharistic Revival has as its core energy our meeting people where they are and walking with them in meeting the Lord anew as well as we are able,” said Crosier Father Kermit Holl.

“Johann’s digital detox compelled him to dive into neuroscience, interviewing experts on attention and flow. He learned about the value of meandering, play and natural sleep rhythms. He compiled his findings into a new book called ‘Stolen Focus: Why You Can’t Pay Attention — and How to Think Deeply Again.'”
