Archdiocese reaches joint reorganization plan; $210 million for survivors largest settlement of its kind
The Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis has reached a consensual plan with a committee representing clergy sexual abuse survivors to resolve its bankruptcy, offering $210 million for restitution to claimants. The settlement is the largest ever reached in a bankruptcy case related to clergy sex abuse.
Salute to Grads 2018
Every year, The Visitor contacts a sampling of parishes with graduating seniors in the Diocese of St. Cloud, as well as Cathedral High School and St. John’s Preparatory School, and asks them to nominate students to profile in our Salute to Grads section. NCEA president: Catholic schools are responsibility of entire church
Thomas Burnford, president and CEO of the National Catholic Educational Association, spoke May 3 at the Breakfast with the Bishop fundraiser held at the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph. The annual event raises funds for the Catholic Schools Student Scholarship Fund, an endowed fund of the Catholic Foundation for the Diocese of St. Cloud that assists Catholic school students in grades one through eight.
Sauk Rapids native ordained transitional deacon in St. Paul
Brother Seraphim Wirth was ordained a transitional deacon for his community, the Franciscan Brothers of Peace May 12 at the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis.
