One cannot love and worship the Eucharist without compassion for the poor and marginalized, Pope Francis said at a Mass concluding Italy’s eucharistic congress.

Bishop Andrew Cozzens, chair of the National Eucharistic Revival, will speak in both English and Spanish about the Eucharist as an integral part of the Catholic faith and the importance of the revival.

Relics of St. Manuel Gonzalez Garcia and Blessed Carlo Acutis, patrons of the National Eucharistic Revival, will be available for veneration in three parishes in the Diocese of St. Cloud between Sept. 30 and Oct. 5.

The free retreat will include time for quiet reflection, small-group discussion, lunch, and Mass with Bishop Donald Kettler.

The first gathering is set for 6 p.m. Oct. 5 at Our Lady of Victory in Fergus Falls with Bishop Andrew Cozzens of Crookston. In addition to his presentation, the relics of Blessed Carlo Acutis and St. Manuel Gonzalez Garcia, patrons of the Eucharistic Revival, will be on display there as part of a national tour.

“Perhaps a key part of the eucharistic revival so needed in the Church includes prioritizing hospitality over liability, embracing God rather than mammon, and relearning the art of welcoming the stranger and sharing a meal together.”

Dozens of Catholics from across the diocese made stops at three parishes in the eastern part of the diocese Aug. 4 for a eucharistic pilgrimage as part of the National Eucharistic Revival.

“The Eucharistic Revival has four main goals that can help guide our diocese, Area Catholic Communities and parishes as we move ahead.”
