Anne McCarney shares her story of faith and love for the Eucharist.

Beginning in January, the diocese’s Eucharistic Revival initiative is hosting “BREAD Talks” in each of the diocese’s five area deaneries, each at a different brewery.

“When we suffer the death of a beloved person, can we also live in a small way the commandment: ‘Do this in memory of me’? Give all, give your blood, your flesh, in releasing this person you love and long to hold onto, letting only God hold your beloved.”

“In this month of Thanksgiving, let us reflect in a special way on all of the blessings we receive in our lives and all that we are grateful for. And let us reflect more deeply on the gift of the Eucharist and its power to transform our lives and the lives of all whom we encounter.”

“At the core of the Eucharist is the sacrifice of Christ. The Revival reminds us that sacrifice is also the pattern of our discipleship.”

“Focusing on encountering Jesus, the role of listening is at the heart of this movement. How can we prepare and open ourselves to him? How can we reflect the love he shares with us with others?”

The first of three Eucharist-themed Regional Ministry Gatherings kicked off Oct. 5 at Our Lady of Victory Church in Fergus Falls with Crookston Bishop Andrew Cozzens giving the keynote presentation.

Author Deacon Dennis Lambert’s focus is on the Catholic concept of “real presence” and a better understanding of Catholic beliefs about the Eucharist and holy Communion.
