Waite Park parish to celebrate 100 years at parish festival

St. Joseph Parish in Waite Park will celebrate its Centennial Parish Festival on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Waite Park Community Park. The day begins with a 10 a.m. flag ceremony commemorating Sept. 11, 2001. Bishop Donald Kettler will celebrate Mass at 10:30 a.m. Those attending are encouraged to bring their own chairs.

The food court opens at 11:30 a.m. The WhiteSideWalls, a rock ‘n’ roll band, will entertain from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. The event features quilt bingo, adult and children’s bingo and games for all ages, bounce houses, basket boutique (silent auction), farmers market, cake walk, pull tabs, dice games and a cash raffle drawing at 6 p.m.

Other centennial events include a bouja sale (Oct. 2), Day of the Dead/All Souls’ Day celebration (Nov. 2), holiday music concert (Nov. 21), Christmas bake sale and egg roll sale (Dec. 10 and 11), 1916 Christmas Decorations Day (Dec. 11), Guadalupe Mass and pageant (Dec. 12)and Posada novena (Dec. 15).
