The diocesan vocations office sponsored their annual Vocation Camp June 10-12 at the Jon Rutten Place on Lake Osakis.

Six men were ordained to the diaconate June 14, at St. Mary’s Cathedral, St. Cloud.

For Father Nathaniel Daubner, his time as a transitional deacon brought a greater desire to serve in priestly vocation and a ‘deeper realization’ of spiritual fatherhood.

Father LeRoy Scheierl welcomed participants from the Summer Rural Immersion Experience Program, coordinated by Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary, at one of the annual novena Masses at Assumption (Grasshopper) Chapel June 5. Before the Rosary and Mass began, Father Scheierl shared his experience working as a priest in Central Minnesota for 35 years.

Bishop Patrick Neary was on hand June 1 to bless the newly constructed social hall/worship space for Christ Our Light Parish, a building project that has been in the works for almost a decade.

Every week a group of women volunteers show up at the diocesan Chancery offices where they proofread and digitize the baptismal, marriage and death records of each parish.

Several issues will be addressed in the $8.6 million renovation, which includes everything from tuck pointing, upgrading the HVAC and plumbing systems and installing energy-efficient windows, to upgrading the kitchen an addition and more classrooms and restrooms.
