Janelle Kendall and the Perfect Storm perform “Love Is In The Air,” a fundraising concert for Catholic Charities, on Thursday, July 28, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Pioneer Place on Fifth in St. Cloud.
“In my day job, I see the positive effect that Catholic Charities has had on our community,” said Kendall, Stearns County Attorney. “From the food shelf, to safe housing, to supporting those who sometimes cannot support themselves, Catholic Charities provides a safety net and a positive environment for everyone. Knowing that support is there matters very much to many people who may also interact with the court system, mental health services and other community services.
“As a musician,” she added, “I saw this as something I could offer beyond mere cash to help. I’m also adopted through Catholic Charities, so ensuring the vitality and engagement of all that they do matters a lot to me.”
The concert features anthems from rock legends Patti LaBelle, Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Blondie, Aretha Franklin, Heart and others. Many of the songs will be “love-themed.”
“Catholic Charities is excited that Janelle Kendall’s Perfect Storm and Pioneer Place on Fifth have offered their time, talent and resources to support our mission of serving and enhancing human dignity for people of all faiths and beliefs in Central Minnesota,” said Deacon Steve Pareja, Catholic Charities executive director. “Because of their generosity, 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales and donations will go to support Catholic Charities. We’re looking forward to celebrating an evening of great music at a fantastic venue with our friends and supporters while raising necessary funds to serve those in need.”
Tickets ($25) are general admission. No reserved seating. Only 212 tickets will be sold. Tickets may be purchased online at https://www.ccstcloud.org/love-is-in-the-air.
